“Polska Książka do czytania…” [“The Polish Reading Book ...”] is a collection of readings in Polish containing 340 stories based on biblical texts, historical and geographical events, as well as proverbs, legends, anecdotes, etc., and a comedy in one act entitled “Erast”. The textbook, intended for pupils of the “real school” [Realschule] in Wrocław to learn the Polish language, was compiled by Daniel Vogel, a teacher at the middle school of Mary Magdalene in Wrocław, and author of numerous textbooks published in collaboration with Jan Fryderyk Korn.
