The Polish periodical “Polnischer Büchersaal”, published in German, was intended to popularise knowledge about Poland in Silesia. Due to the onset of the Seven Years’ War, only the first issue of the periodical was published in 1756. It was edited by Jan Daniel Janocki, prefect of the Załuski library and advisor on Polish publications at the Korns’ publishing house. The issue contains texts on the lives and works of Polish writers, scholars and patrons.
