An oddly shaped pier of the Yamuna bridge

One of the piers of the Yamuna bridge at Allahabad is distinct from all others and is sometimes called the Elephant's Foot. There were problems in the sinking of the well for this pier and an innovative methodology had to be adopted which resulted in this shape.
