An Ode to the Union

In this clip, the pioneer Emirati painter Abdul Qader Al Rais tells the story behind his colossal artwork featured in Etihad Museum. Employing his signature abstraction of art through geometric forms and Arabic calligraphy, he commemorates the union of the seven Emirates. Al Rais brings to life the spirit of the nation, its land and its people through vivid shades of blue and yellow, a tribute to the cherished Arabian palm tree and a masterpiece dedicated to the place in which it all happened.
