Anadoluhisarı/Anatolian Fortress

Koleksiyon’daki “B. Rahmi” imzalı, tarihsiz Anadoluhisarı peyzajı, Bedri Rahmi’nin Boğaziçi’nin en belirgin, en eski noktalarından birini tüm özellikleriyle ortaya koyan peyzajlarındandır. Keskin fırça vuruşlarıyla örülü, hareketli kayıklardan denizin göz alıcı berrak rengine, kalenin taşlarından üzerinde yükselen bayrağa, kaleye bitişik evlerden önünde oturan, dolaşan ya da at arabasıyla giden figürlere, yapılarla bütünleşmiş ağaçlardan kompozisyonu adeta kucaklayan bulutlara… Ressam Anadoluhisarı’nı öne çıkan tüm unsurlarıyla nakış işler gibi betimlemiştir.

The undated Anadoluhisarı Landscape, signed “B. Rahmi” and featured in the Collection, is one of Bedri Rahmi’s landscapes that vividly captures one of the most distinctive and historic points along the Bosphorus. From the vibrant boats and the dazzling clarity of the sea to the stones of the fortress crowned with a waving flag, from the adjacent houses and the figures sitting, walking, or riding in a horse cart, to the trees integrated with the architecture and the clouds that seem to embrace the composition—the painting is woven with sharp brushstrokes. The artist has portrayed Anadoluhisarı with all its defining elements, as if embroidering each detail onto the canvas.
