High-pressure predators
Heteromorphous ancyloceras ammonite. The unrolled shell limited the fast swimming ability of the wrapped ammonites (homomorphous). We presume that these ammonites were carnivorous and that they were active hunters. They lived in deep marine environment, with high water pressure. They swam in a subtropical environment, with quite hot and oxygen filled waters.
