“This character is the only thing I paint under this pseudonym. It was something of an experiment. I like to choose a name as an avatar, match it up with a specific technique and see how long it takes to become known. Here, the idea was to imitate graffiti artists like André or Zeus – they’ve created a character or a logo and you know it’s their work even without seeing their signatures. I did quite a few of these in the street and realised it was a thousand times easier to get known using this technique than it was by just doing tags or throw-ups, for example.”
The artist biography:
A member of the TWE Crew, Haiastan began using this pseudonym for graffiti in 2007. All his paintings feature the same character: a b-boy (a guy with a hip hop look) with angel’s wings, which he has chosen as a visual identity and uses as a logo.
