Artefact recovered from the wreck of the Loch Ard. This iron clipper was wrecked on Mutton Bird Island in 1878 while travelling from Gravesend, England to Melbourne. It had a large and varied cargo which included gas light fittings. This is a detail of a gas light fitting in the shape of an angel retrieved from the wreck of the Loch Ard. This particular angel is missing her wings.
