Angel with a sun of the crypt of the Portico of Glory

Inside the iconographic programme of the western closure of the Catedral de Santiago, the crypt represents the earthly world, and for that reason, there are two angels sculpted on the keystones of the vaults of the transept, one carrying the sun and other the moon. These are the stars that the earthly world need to light up, unlike the celestial Jerusalem.
