A puppet representing Anjaneya, also known as Hanuman, a chief character from the epic Ramayan.
The traditional shadow puppet theatre was chiefly concentrated in the States of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Orissa. The characters are drawn from, usually the Hindu epics like the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Shadow puppets are made of buffalo hide with limbs articulated to allow for movement.
