Anjum has specialised in Lucknowi cuisine for which she is a food consultant as well. Her interest in cooking started early in life as she watched both her grandmothers supervise the cooking in their homes. Among her toys were a set of little weighing scales, customised for her by her dadi, her paternal grandmother, who had noticed Anjum’s early interest in cooking. Her signature sweet-dishes like Chane ki dal ka Halwa, Shahi-Tukda, Kheer, Sheer Qorma, Phirini and Ande ka Halwa are also based on recipes shared by her dadi.
