Also known as tabacon, it grows in moist forests, ranging from Mexico to Panama. It has large, fleshy leaves of dark-green color that are bright on the upper surface. Different than other Anthuriums, its leaves sprout directly from the basis. The inflorescence of the birdsnest anthurium also stands out for the purple spadix and the opaque green spathe.
