The artifacts from the wreck have been in sea water for over 2000 years, and have therefore absorved salt in their walls. Due to this, they can't be dried inmediately, so as soon as they reach the surface, they are submerged in fresh water, which is changed regularelly in order to progressively get rid of the salt that has been integrated into their clay.
