Archbishop Antonio da Saluzzo promulgates the papal bull

In this tile, Lucio Fontana demonstrates the power of his own artistic language, animated by a three-dimensional movement thanks to which the figures seem to emerge with force from the background plane. Fontana develops one of the subjects set out in the competition held by the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano for the creation of the Fifth Door (1950), on the theme of "The Origins and History of the Duomo".
