The premium beer launched in 1963 by the Birra Peroni company, leader of the Italian market, had an innovative and elegant image: the name Nastro Azzurro was a tribute to the award given to the ship that broke the speed record in the Atlantic crossing, won in 1933 by the Italian ocean liner Rex. For the label and the jar, the white color profoundly innovated the European graphic models in vogue at the time, dominated by black and gold and gothic characters
