José Luis is a gaucho, a cowboy, from Argentina. The gaucho figure is a national symbol in his country. His horses are a central part of his life and identity. During the day, José Luis rides them to check on livestock on a large swath of land. At the end of the work day, he focuses on training his herd of horses, called trupilla, for local shows.
