While the area surrounding the Enoggera camp has been used for military purposes since 1855, the camp itself was established in 1908, and comprised four paddocks - Bell's, Fraser's, Rifle and Thompson's - all used for training and drill, along with a number of rifle ranges established for use by civilian groups and militia units.
