Astrolabe

Among the multitude of objects that belonged to the scholar Ludovico Moscardo there were also geographical and astronomical instruments.
Among all, the attention is captured by the astrolabe, an ancient instrument used for many centuries by astronomers and sailors to determine the position of the stars in the celestial vault.
The name astrolabe derives from the Greek ástron and lambáno, which literally means "to take the stars".
