Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad Locomotive No. 132

Locomotive No. 132 was one of the largest, most powerful trains of its time. It and other "consolidation" engines operated on the western frontier becoming the backbone of Baldwin Locomotive Works' Santa Fe fleet. The 110,000 pound train was rescued from a scrap heap in 1939 to become the corporate symbol for Santa Fe. In 1983 it was presented to the State of Kansas. Now residing in the Kansas Museum of History gallery, the restored train is the oldest surviving Santa Fee steam locomotive.
