In the Butterflies! exhibit, a lush tropical garden filled with plants and a multitude of live butterflies and moths offers a unique experience. The butterflies in this live collection are sent as pupa (a stage in the life cycle) from Costa Rica, Suriname, Malaysia and Kenya. Visitors get to see them undergoing metamorphosis and then flying around the warm, humid enclosure. The Atlas Moth is the largest moth in the world with a wingspan the size of a dinner plate.
