The attire and adornment of Lahu women is characteristic of the apparel of women living on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The Lahu women wear black long gowns with a standing collar, a diagonal placket stretching from collar to right side of waist, two high side slits and the bottom hanging to the mid-shin. The gown is usually decorated with round silver plates, and red or white hems on cuffs and placket, thus creating a gorgeous look. Pants are worn to go with the long gown.
Some Lahu women living in Xishuangbanna have the custom of shaving their heads and then wrap with black cotton fabric, and adorn themselves with big earrings, and necklaces with big silver plates as pendants.
