The sculpture represent Avalokitesvara, the compassionate bodhisattva, seated in the lotus position, with the right hand up and a little branch in the left hand. Inside the sculpture, under the opening base, there is a small prayer roll, remained intact over the centuries. The half-closed eyes of the face of the bodhisattva symbolize the power to watch over human beings who can pray to divinity precisely to mitigate suffering. The face's traits are probably attributable to Nepalese manufacture, specialized in golden bronze manufacturing since ancient periods.
