The design office staff hard at work. This image was originally printed in Jet Age, an A.V. Roe Canada publication for all of its member companies, in the spring of 1956. It was featured again in the Winter 1956/57 issue (renamed New Horizons), with the caption: “The heart of any industry is its design office. Here the engineers and technicians use their trained minds to invent, develop, adapt and perfect their company’s products. From their blueprints the factories work, and on the calibre of the product the company’s fortunes rest. No organization can remain competitive for long with vacant drawing boards.”
