This is how the Nagao-Orifu factory looked back in Showa times. The roof of the factory on the far left is called a “saw roof” (nokogiri-yane), which comes from its looking like the teeth of a saw. The vertical surface of the roof is made of glass so that light filters through evenly and many factories installed them between the Meiji to Showa peried.
