Through this piece, WiseTwo attempts to decipher ancient cultures, rhythms, codes, hieroglyph symbology and mystical ritualistic objects of a deep and powerful continent, Africa. Through this interpretation he is also striving for personal growth and wisdom, emphasizing spiritual release and meditation that speaks of the complexities of the human condition. WiseTwo (Bhupendra Jethwa) is an acclaimed Kenyan street artist and muralist. He has created works in public spaces around the world,including in Australia, Colombia, South Africa and the United States, and is the artist behind two of East and Central Africa’s largest murals in Nairobi City. His work focuses primarily on the influence of the mask and its existence in Ancient Cultures, as well as hieroglyphs and their potential to depict the innate unity of all civilization. WiseTwo harnesses these themes as metaphors to explore history, knowledge, wisdom,mystery, ritual and spirituality. Driven by the energy of different times and realms, he blends graffiti with mural techniques to compose stand-out pieces full of myth and mastery.
