Azzurrino Pesenti

This portrait of the his nephew Azzurrino, who looks like a very young Raphael, captures the sadness of the gaze. From a pictorial point of view Pesenti here challenges some compositional difficulties, such as the thick hair of Azzurrino, that seems to blend in with the tapestry that is almost of the same colour, making his pale face stand out against the dark contour.
