The badger is the common name of Meles meles, Order Carnivora and Family Mustelidae. The living badger usually inhabits in forests and scrubs on mountain slopes. Badger bones and teeth discovered at the Luliao site suggests that this animal was once native to Taiwan. Today there are no signs of badger activity in Taiwan. The habitat destruction may lead to their disappearance.
