In addition to a bed, kitchen use and sanitary facilities in the dormitories, the miners were also provided with bed linen and towels for a low monthly rent. 39 sleeping quarters were built in the Saar district in 1910 with approx. 5,000 inhabitants. The decline in the workforce in the entire Saar district also caused the number and utilisation of dormitories to decrease from the 1920s.
