Bandi Balaiah Naidu

This portrait of Bandi Balaiah Nadiu was done between 1902-1904. Ravi Varma and his brotherr Raja Raja Varma were guests of Bandi Balaiah Naidu in 1902 on their way to Kurupam. Balaiah Naidu was the Diwan in the court of Maharaja Pusapathi Ananda Gajapathi Raju of Vizianagaram. Balaiah Naidu was a huge supporter of the Varma brothers. They stayed with the Diwan on several occasions at his palatial home in Ponnamalay in Madras.
