Jack Bain worked for the Bank of Australasia and worked in many branches over his career from the 1920s to his retirement in 1966. The Bank of Australasia is a heritage-listed former bank at 116A Brisbane Street, Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Reed & Barnes and built in 1878. It was constructed in 1878 with an attached manager's residence. It is now an Indian restaurant. Ipswich is a city in South East Queensland, Australia. Situated on the Bremer River, it is approximately 40 kilometres (25 mi) west of the Brisbane central business district. The city is renowned for its architectural, natural and cultural heritage. Ipswich began in 1827 as a mining settlement.
