Blue satin banner made for the Sons of Italy in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, Lodge no. 750, named in honor of Umberto I, King of Italy from January 9, 1878 – July 29, 1900. The lodge was founded on the 23rd of September, 1917 and was active until 1991 when it merged with the Roma Madre Lodge No. 1342 of Sayre, Pennsylvania. The Sons of Italy was established as a mutual aid society for early Italian immigrants to assist with obtaining citizenship, providing health and death benefits, educational opportunities, and assimilation into American society.
