South African Barry Richards hit 356, the highest domestic runs scored at the
WACA Ground while playing for South Australia against Western Australia in
a Sheffield Shield match 20-23 November 1970 only weeks out from Perth's inaugural
men's Test match. Richards hit 356 off 381 balls which included 48 fours and
only 1 six. His strike rate was 93.43. He was eventually out LBW by Tony Mann.
