One of twelve colored lithographs from a portfolio by Carl Nebel, New York, and published in a portfolio entitled "The War Between the United States and Mexico" (Philadelphia: D. Appleton & Company 1851) by George Wilkins Kendall. Each plate has the credits "C. Nebel fecit" and "Bayot lith." and were printed in sepia and hand colored by Lemercier in Paris.
