Beach Scene at Scheveningen with Fishing Boats

Scattered groups of men and women are situated around two barges on a beach. Furthermore, horses, a dog cart with two dogs and a stretched net cart are depicted. Against the dunes a bomschuit (a Dutch fishing boat) is being repaired. The tower of the church of Scheveningen is visible on the other side of the dunes. In the background on the left are a few more barges, including one with a flat fence, a so-called shrimp barge.
