Kew has had a strong interest in bees for many years. In 1992, we installed a formal bee garden near our Queen's Garden. We grow plants like sainfoin and dandelion here for our bees, and have a combination of traditional and modern beehives. Our bee garden is now near the wildflower area near Elizabeth Gate. Wildflowers are a rich source of nutrition for bees.
