One of a set of 18 circular Belgian plates. This plate depicts the jube or rood screen in church at Dixmude with woman in white bonnet kneeling in foreground and has a gold and blue decorated border. The site of the aptly named ñTrench of Death,î Dixmude remained the heart of Belgian resistance until the successful Anglo-Belgian offensive in September 1918. Presented to President Wilson by the King and Queen of Belgium at the White House, October 30, 1919.
