It is called “Mawashizuna” and involves reusing the rope used for Shinji (Shinto religious services) on Toshikoshi (New Year’s Eve) and many private houses and Shukubo hang net decorations on the entrance and ridgepoles as an amulet. It is said to be a draw rope used for Shinto religious service with a pulled and burned-out tsutsugamushi (chiggers (devils)) at the Shoreisai (entering a mountain in winter) and the devil will stay away if they place the rope.
