Bengal dayflower is an herbaceous plant native to tropical Asia and Africa. It was introduced outside the native range. The plant is considered as weed everywhere in native as well as in the introduced range. The plant spreads rapidly in moist soil. It has a wide range of flowering periods depending where it grows from June to September in tropical areas and throughout the year near the equator.
