Football boots worn by Billy Steel while playing for Derby County. In September 1950 Billy transferred to Dundee for a then record fee of £23,500. One of Scotland's greatest forwards, with 12 goals in 30 appearances for the national team, Billy quit football in 1954 at the age of 31 and started a new life in America where he managed the Los Angeles Danes and worked in advertising. His boots were donated to the museum by Mrs Kay Caren.
