These combs, shaped like forks, are specifically for use in hairdressing and are called bindashi. In the world of Japanese hairdressing, the word bin is used when the hair at the temples is let loose and then put up. The handle part of the comb is used to arrange the shape of the hair at the temples and the shape of the tabo (tsuto in Kansai; referring to when the hair at the nape and on the back of the head is shaped outwards) and to insert hair pieces into the hair at the temples.
