This fanciful candy box fashioned from silver depicts a bird with its head turned 180 degrees. The bird's eyes are made from polished coral spheres. An exotic headdress, comprised of pointed leaves and a small bunch of grapes, is perched atop its head. The upper back body of the bird can be removed and opens to reveal a small storage space. The bird’s tail mirrors the back feathers and is assembled from hammered sheets of silver with linear striations around the edges. The Wiener Werkstätte produced five birds in this model.
