Birmingham Town Hall was built between 1832 and 1834. It was designed by JA Hansom and E Welch, following a competition of 1830. Photographed during the Second World War for the National Buildings Record, George Bernard Mason's image shows Birmingham Town Hall draped in a banner encouraging the public to donate to Warship Week.
