Birthplace of Empress Myeongseong

This house is where Empress Myeongseong was born and raised until she was eight. The original structures were built during the reign of King Sukjong (r. 1674-1720), but only the Inner House remains today. The house exhibits the characteristic features of the upper-class dwelling houses of the mid-Joseon period.
