Bishop Margaret Vertue. Ordained as one of the first woman priests in the Anglican Church of Southern Africa in 1992 and only the second woman to be elected an Anglican Bishop, her story represents the kind of equality that Tutu has fought his entire life for. Ordained into the priesthood by Tutu himself, Vertue opened up about what she believes the church’s true role in society ought to be and Tutu’s firm reputation for speaking truth to power. Bishop Margaret Vertue is a South African Anglican bishop.
