Bisso is a fiber secreted by some bivalve molluscs to anchor to the bottom and withstand sea currents. In particular, Pinna nobilis Bisso was considered of high value, a sort of marine silk, from the processing of which, obtained thanks to frames like the one on display, it was possible to obtain very precious and expensive fabrics with which, in antiquity, the clothes of important characters.
