Bleached Coral, American Samoa

This coral bleaching event was documented during the 3rd Global Coral Bleaching Event ni 2015. These events are a new phenomena caused by climate change and our rapidly warming oceans (93 percent of global warming heat is absorbed by the ocean). The first global event in 1998 killed an estimated 16 percent of the world's corals.
