This custom piece created by Bob Hines for the entryway to the Department’s Bureau of Sport Fisheries and Wildlife (1957-1974), depicts the abundance of life on America’s prairies. Hines was a self-taught artist who came to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 1948, first as an illustrator and then as a staff artist.
