Washing: Also referred to as rinsing of the paper mulberry bark. In this step all dust and dirt on the bark is washed off.         Cooking: Using soda water (sodium carbonate aqueous solution) the bark is half cooked for one to two hours. Any floating bark during the cooking is pressed down using a rod for dispersing the fibers.
