Bona Sforza d’Aragona

Bona Sforza d'Aragona (1494 - 1557) - from 1518 wife of Sigismund the Old, Queen of Poland and Grand Duchess of Lithuania, Duchess of Bari and Rosano, heir to claims to the Kingdom of Jerusalem from 1524. The graphics come from a collection of woodcuts based on sketches by Jan Matejko. The publisher of the collection was the Warsaw printing house of Salomon Lewental, employing engravers: Józef Holewiński, Aleksander Tadeusz Regulski and Jan Styfi.
