The famous book series “The Library of Babel” was born from the partnership between Franco Maria Ricci and Jorge Luis Borges: the Italian publisher, great admirer of the Argentine author, got to know him personally in Buenos Aires where he worked as director of the National Library. It was the beginning of a wonderful friendship, as well as of a long professional sodality. Each of the twenty-nine volumes of the series, published from 1975 to 1985, is dedicated to an author loved by Borges and contains a choice of texts chosen and introduced by Borges himself.
